In addition to earning an undergraduate degree in Art Education and a masters degree in Education from Truman State University, Jeanie earned a Ph.D in Art Education from the Ohio State University. Formal studies in Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, and Surface Design inform her art-making as well. Touring Japan as a Fulbright Teacher Scholar was a highlight of her teaching career; as was participating with her school staff in a 5 year national grant focused on “Transforming Education Through The Arts,” funded by the Annenberg and Getty Foundations.
Her artworks hang in public collections such as the Springfield, Ohio Regional Medical Center, Short North Hilton Hotel, Greater Columbus Convention Center, the Corporate Headquarters for PNC Banks, Louisville, Kentucky, and private collections across the US. For years she was a juried member artist at Studios on High Gallery in Columbus’ Short North Arts District. She currently volunteers at Columbus’ Goodwill Art Studio and Gallery, a creative atmosphere which encourages adults with a wide range of disabilities to find personal visual expression.
