Laura Alexander received a MFA in Fibers from the University of Washington, Seattle and a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She has shown her work nationally in venues such as the Henry Art Gallery (Seattle), Grand Rapids Museum of Art, Columbus Museum of Art, and The Museum of Design, Atlanta. She has been awarded grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) and the Ohio Arts Council. She also traveled to Dresden, Germany for the GCAC International Exchange Program.
She is represented by Hammond Harkins Galleries (Columbus) and Simon Breitbard Gallery (San Francisco).
